Browse through the mid September pictures of some of our 2011 drop at the
bottom of this page. We have top quality alpacas for sale from weaning
age through to mature breeding stock. Please take a moment to read the
following section to better understand what value these progeny represent.
Our industry is all about producing a premium "next to
skin wear" fibre and it is the depth of sound genetics, attention to
breeding and quality control that will produce long term value and
sustainability.
The sires of many of these cria (Eringa Park
Tuscan, Rivergum Rise Dynasty and Barrabinda Desert Star) are still 20
micron on their sixth to eighth fleeces. Fleece measurement and the
resulting statistics demonstrate the value of good sound genetics that
produce the required traits of fineness, low variation and high comfort
factor. Look at the consistency of the histograms by these sires used
in our breeding programme.
The graph to the right shows the aggregated
histograms of all progeny sired by these 3 males as tested by AAFT
(Australian Alpaca Fibre Testing) after the 2010 shearing. It shows
the true performance and value of each sire. Note that all progeny
(all ages) of these sires are included (not just the exceptional ones).
The graph below shows the histograms of the 2010
progeny by Eringa Park Tuscan. These histograms are very good but do
show the variation in fibre diameter that results from dietary changes that
occur from birth to being a yearling. Scroll down further and look at
the histograms of his progeny in their second year...

The graph to the right which shows the histograms
of Tuscan's progeny from the previous year (2009 drop) and see how the
variation has reduced in their second year. They have also held their
incredibly low fibre diameter - they have inherited that trait from their
sire.
The graph below shows the 2010 histograms for
Tuscan, Dynasty and Desert Star - the males that have sired the 2011 drop
pictured below. Their ages at shearing for these tests in 2010 were
Tuscan (7 years old), Dynasty (6 years old) and Desert Star (8 years old).

Dynasty's 2009 drop (graph to the right) show the
same amazing low fibre diameter and low variation evidenced by low SD
(Standard Deviation). His progeny will continue to hold their low
fibre diameter and dense, lustrous heavy cutting fleeces.
Desert Star's 2007, 2008 and 2009 progeny are shown
in the graph below.

These three great sires have produced the alpacas
that we have available for sale. The fibre analyses shown above
demonstrate that the progeny have the genetics to hold and pass on their
traits of extreme fineness (low micron), low variation (standard deviation)
and high comfort factor. The skirted saddle weights being produced are
improving annually and are producing returns through sales of their fibre.
Have a look at some of the progeny pictured below
and then contact us to discuss your requirements. We have all colours
of huacaya from weaning age to mature breeding females and stud sires
available.ri
