ALPACA BASICS FOR BEGINNERS WORKSHOP

The popular Alpaca Basics for Beginners workshop first ran in July 2006 and continues to draw new and prospective breeders throughout WA.

Attendees enjoy Anne & Darryl’s hospitality, expertise and experience on a farm running over 400 Huacaya and Suri alpacas.

The workshop was designed to satisfy increasing demand for information and practical hands on experience with alpacas. 

Attendees learn the basics of alpaca business, farming and care.  Topics are a mixture of classroom and hands on including handling, nutrition, animal selection, breeding, birthing, cria care, halter training, injections, working with your vet, shearing and property requirements as well as value adding, showing and marketing.

Attendance at this 1 day workshop prior to purchasing is a must to ensure that prospective owners are fully informed and know what is involved in caring for alpacas.  Getting hands on experience working with alpacas for a day will help them decide if alpacas are right for them and if they are right for alpacas.
